WELCOME TO
SUMNER SELECT 2030
Upon completion of our thorough evaluation process, the Sumner Select program believes that you possess the necessary skills to help take our 2030 team to the next level. When we began to form the team, we considered what type of player would best fit our program. Do they have a desire to play sports? Do they have a desire to be the best basketball player they can be? Are they a good teammate? Are they coachable? Will they make their teammates better? Do they have a desire to succeed on and off the floor? Will they represent our organization proudly?
You checked every box.
Now it is up to you to accept our invitation and join us as we look forward to the future. We welcome tough competition and we are going to make sure you compete against it. We will have organized practices. They will be fast paced and prepare you for the season ahead. You will practice alongside teammates that have also checked the same boxes as you. They will walk in the gym with the mindset that they are there for a reason. The same reason as you. To be the best version of your self on the court.
Our commitment to you is that we will do our best to make you the player YOU want to be. You will have knowledgeable coaches that will not allow you to settle. We will not allow you to be get by with being just another player on the court. We are going to push you and maximize your potential every day. We are going to build a relationship with you forever. You will set individual goals and team goals, and we will be right beside you as you achieve them. Your teammates will have the same passion as you. They will pick you up when fall and they will push you further in the right direction. It will not happen overnight, but if you are committed to us, committed to your teammates, and committed to putting in the work, we WILL take you there.
Your commitment to us is that you will allow us to coach you. You will allow us to put you in the best position to make the most improvement on your game. You will be committed to becoming the best version of your self on and off the court. You will commit yourself to your team and your teammates. You will not allow your teammates to give less than their best effort, because we assure you, they will not allow you to give less than yours. You will represent our program to the best of your ability and when asked, you will strongly respond, “I am Sumner Select.”
PRACTICE
We will begin practicing in February upon the completion of the Middle School basketball season. Practices will be focused on high intensity training, which will involve skill development and live game play. We will share the gym with other Sumner Select programs so you will always face the best competition available.
TOURNAMENTS
Our tentative “dedicated” tournament schedule will begin in late February and finish before the end of May. Upon completion of our dedicated schedule, we will always look to continue with more tournaments as scheduling allows. Most of our tournaments will be played in Middle Tennessee, however there are occurrences where we will play at destination tournaments. We are looking to move into the realm of more competitive tournaments and putting our program in position to extend our brand. The only destination tournament we ask everyone to attend will be a program wide tournament in which all Sumner Select Basketball teams will be present. This will allow us to not only compete at the highest level, but in our down time, our coaches, parents, and players can bond off of the court. We will do our best to announce are program trip as soon as possible.
PLAYER FEE
The 2026 player fee for the 2030 spring season will be $750. This fee includes: Program fee, player insurance, complete Under Armour uniform, facility usage, and your “dedicated” tournament fees. The dedicated tournament schedule will include 7 tournaments. Any tournaments played beyond this number will be discussed at the necessary time. Player fees will be opened for payment beginning on January 1, 2026. Team uniforms will need to be ordered by the Friday, January 30, 2026, therefore at minimum, partial payments in the amount of $450, will be due by Friday, January 23, 2026.
MULTI-SPORTS
Many of the players selected for our program will be members of multiple sports. We request that you inform us how you will prioritize these sports. If you will need to miss tournaments for other sports, please note that our schedule is made in advance to give families time to prepare. As plans always change, we would like to limit unavailability due to scheduling conflicts as much as possible.
